Description

Internship Network Engineer provides and executes configurations of Networking, secure and efficient data communication. Responsible for installation, configuration, maintenance (updating) and monitoring of all active network equipment and security, in order to ensure the proper and safe operation of customer’s network as needed. Provide status reports to Project Manager and Technical/ Team Lead on tasks accomplished, current issues, and progress toward goals.

Job Responsibilities

1. Receives close supervision, and general review of all aspects of work.
2. Acquires basic knowledge and develops skills in a specific practice area.
3. Must be able to demonstrate knowledge and best practices acquired during *specific period of time (*6 months - best candidates will continue with Mikkena).
4. Applies standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks.
5. Participate in the implementation team of approved network architecture and designs.
6. Installing, configuring, and supporting network equipment, as required by assigned project; including routers, proxy servers, switches, WAN accelerators, etc.
7. Assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and implements approved methods of procedure.
8. Attends project meetings with the customer.
9. Understands and adheres to company internal policies and procedures.
10. MUST possess good oral and written communication skills in English language.

Certifications / Knowledge level and Skills:

 Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
 Basic knowledge of industry products and services
 Familiar with the network engineering field.
 Basic network devices and basic network appliances
 Basic knowledge of related industry specifications and standards IEEE, ANSI, bridging, switching, routing, ethernet, and transport technologies and protocols.
 Ability to perform duties in a very fast pace environment and ability to learn new technology quickly
 Preferably Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent
 Preferably experienced with network design, network architecture, and protocols
